Overview
The Clean HEET (Clean Heating Efficiently with Electric Technology) Program is a Bay Area Air District rebate program designed to help homeowners replace polluting wood-burning stoves or fireplaces with clean, electric heat pump systems.
Wood-burning heating is one of the largest sources of winter air pollution in the Bay Area. Clean HEET helps reduce harmful particulate matter while making homes more comfortable year-round. Heat pumps provide efficient heating in the winter and cooling in the summer, all in one system.
Eligible homeowners can receive $3,000 to $6,500 for replacing a wood-burning device with an electric heat pump, or $1,000 for permanently decommissioning an older wood-burning device without replacement. Additional incentives may be available for income-qualified households or homes with multiple eligible
