Heat Pump Program
The Heat Pump Program is a subset of the Woodsmoke Reduction Program specifically focused on replacing non-EPA-certified woodburning stoves, fireplaces, or open hearths with electric heat pumps. Electric Heat Pump project applicants must replace their wood-burning device with an electric heat pump.
Yolo-Solano AQMD offers two incentives for this program:
Standard Incentives for $5,000 and Enhanced Incentives for $10,000.
Step One
Check for eligibility ($5000)
To participate, you must:- Live in Yolo-Solano AQMD’s area.
- Use an older wood stove, insert, or fireplace as your primary heat source.
- Provide details on how much wood you burn and photos of your current heating device.
- Not remove your old device or purchase a heat pump before getting voucher approval.
Enhanced Incentive Eligibility ($10,000):
You qualify for extra funds if:- You live in or near a disadvantaged/low-income community or on tribal land.
- You participate in low-income programs like LIHEAP or WIC.
- Your household income is below the program’s limits (based on household size).

Step Two
Submit an application
Voucher-Application-Form-fillable (PDF)
- Fill out the application and email it to grants@ysaqmd.org or send it by mail.
- If applying for extra funds, include proof of eligibility (we’ll guide you!)

Step Three
Contact Us to receive a quote
After reviewing your application, the District will provide a list of participating merchants.
Contact Us or Call us at 844-637-3733 and we’ll provide you with a quote depending on your eligibility
Do not purchase or pay for equipment, or remove existing equipment prior to receiving a voucher.
Step Four
Send quote to district
Submit your quote to grants@ysaqmd.org or by mail.
The district will review and send you a voucher for the equipment specified on this quote.
Step Five
Complete your installation
After receiving your voucher, use your voucher to complete your purchase with us. We’ll install your heat pump and provide training on how to use it.
